Paige McColl is our amazing office manager. She comes to us with a wonderful medical background having obtained her medical office administration, and health unit clerk diplomas.
Her cheerful demeanour is a pleasure to work with while she helps you arrange appointments and private labs. In the background she is doing a million other things - she's pretty much the glue that holds it all together. She loves getting out and finding flow mountain biking, gravel biking, and doing yoga. |
Dr. Christina Botros
After graduating Dr Botros began her career locuming throughout BC, Alberta and Nunavut as a rural family doctor which included practicing Emergency Medicine as well as Obstetrics. This also gave her the opportunity to travel and explore the world in her spare time, which she did for 4-5 years before calling Squamish, BC home.
Eastern Medicine has always been a passion of hers. She was exposed to yoga at a young age and continued to expand upon her knowledge and practice of Eastern wisdom from there. During her undergraduate degree she began learning QiGong through the Dr Aung Club in Edmonton and later would learn from the renowned Dr Steven Aung himself.
Over time it became clear that Dr Botros needed a means by which to practice authentically and marry her personal and professional lives. She needed a way to practice both allopathic and natural medicine simultaneously and Functional Medicine was the answer she had longed for. Function Medicine is a holistic approach to primary care that looks at addressing the root causes of diseases and uses evidence-based natural interventions when appropriate. This holistic approach addresses all nodes of health simultaneously: gut health, stress management, inflammation, genetics, hormone balance, toxin exposure and detoxification, food and lifestyle optimization, and mitochondrial function for energy. The Functional Medicine approach also brings into consideration that health and wellness are not simply the absence of disease. There is a great emphasis on establishing joy, resiliency, purpose, and peace in patient’s lives despite their personal health struggles.
Dr Botros is also passionate about mental health and has done training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults as well as children and is well versed in mindfulness based practices. She has also done some training in Emotional Freedom Technique – a practice that uses tapping on acupressure points for psychological and physiological management of symptoms and is recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 12 Task Force as an empirically validated treatment.
Typical of most Squamish residents, Dr Botros is no stranger to extreme sports in the outdoors. She considers these activities as tools by which to enter a "flow state" and does so on a regular basis. Rock climbing, mountain biking, kiteboarding, sailing, skiing, hiking, canoeing or simply the act of walking her dog in the inspiring beauty of Squamish are all regular practices. She looks forward to getting into the flow with you, and considers this step as an essential starting point to be able to suggest the individualized medicine best suited to guide you on your healing journey.

Steve Fazzari
Steve began his journey as a health practitioner many years ago. Originally he was drawn to healing the body in a very external way as a practitioner and instructor of Yoga; after years of personal injuries, he realized focused and directed interventions could counteract the years of damage and ensuing pain that could come with chronic injury and strain. He also began his journey into nutrition not much after that. As a young adult with years of digestive issues already behind him, he decided to take that same purposeful approach to finding alterations in his diet (namely shifting towards a primarily whole foods diet) that would provide that same aspect of self healing that would promote health and wellness.
After placing roots in BC, Steve returned to school to receive a second bachelor’s degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from UBC (the first being a degree focused on Business Marketing from Wilfrid Laurier University). In his time as a student at UBC, he was recognized by the institution with the Edward JC Hossie award for his outstanding leadership in the community - both at UBC and in the greater Vancouver community (primarily within Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside), for his work developing and implementing a nutrition programming for local schools. Steve has also done research work in the field of Public Health with the Iodine Global Network (IGN, the unified global network of experts in the field of iodine nutrition), and also spent time as a co-instructor for a senior-level class in International Nutrition at the University of British Columbia.
Steve has been seeing clients in the realm of nutrition counselling for many years. Diet analysis and alterations to promote health and well being are a focal point for his practice; he wants to share the same balance and well being that he has been working to solidify in his own life through his relationship to food and the food system. Whether you need help understanding the complexities of specific diet plans to be integrated in your life (whether they be short- or long-term interventions), have questions about removing potential allergens or items that cause food sensitivities, or other general questions about your relationship to food and the patterns you’ve built over your life, Steve can be there for you. Nutrition is a complicated realm - it’s not the same for any two individuals, and as such, can be a difficult realm to navigate alone. So don’t go at it alone! Alyssa Salloum
Alyssa's story is something she is proud of and you can observe this with her open heart. A few years ago she couldn't sleep through the night, was at an unhealthy body weight, stopped mountain biking, stopped doing physical activity, and stopped doing the things she loved to do. Her back was so bad that Alyssa could not put socks on without paint. It seemed impossible.
Making small lifestyle adjustments that added up to big changes, Alyssa stayed consistent and most importantly owned where she was at with an understanding of where I wanted to go. Today she is strong from strength training, riding her bike, able to put clothes on without pain, and is on a path to be a better version of herself everyday. Alyssa is on the journey to being kind to herself while continuing to make positive lifestyle adjustments and helping others around her do the same.
If what I just said resonates with you and you are having a hard time seeing the steps to get to your vision of optimal health and wellness- I can be there to support, you.
